There are reports floating about on the internet that the Defender model line will continue in production until at least 2008.
Key to this is the introduction of a new engine for 2006, likely to be the Ford 'Puma' family engine, to replace the Rover-designed Td5 engine which will fall foul of Tier 4 emissions regulations.
This, along with other minor changes, will keep the legendary Defender alive for at least 3 more years in its current form. |
